Italian Street Art

New to the Festival in 2007, Italian street art is a part of nearly every street fair or festival in Italy. The chalk art pictures in Italy get very involved and the artists get very competitive in the design of their pictures. In Italy it is the custom not to judge the images but to let the festival patrons pick the best picture by tossing cash on their favorite. The picture collecting the most money is declared the winner.
This year the chairperson for this event was Allison Antonelli.

Each artist is designated a marked off area in which to work and given a set of sidewalk chalk. Should they choose, the artist may bring their own chalk. No application or entrance fee is required and there is no age limit. We encourage the art work to be something Italian, but that's not required. The only strict requirement is that it be in good taste since this is a family event.

Allison makes a final check of her artwork.

The kids really enjoyed it. They used up a lot of chalk.
