During this time we will be thanking Gabe and Donna and their entire family for their tremendous and never tiring efforts and support during this past year. Spring Fling 2008

The Spring Fling is the first big event of the year. Normally held between New Year's and the beginning of Lent, it gives everyone a chance to break their cabin fever, have a great meal and dance the cob webs of Winter away. This year it was snowed out and postponed until the first weekend in May with great success. The Spring Fling is also used to make the announcement and honor the couple who will be Host and Hostess for the upcoming year. This year's dinner and dance was held in St. Joseph Parish Hall where everyone enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet catered by John Hursey of the Canal House restaurant. Music during dinner was provided by Mickey Bache and the dance music was provided by Glassman DJ service.
The Chairperson for the Spring Fling was Patty Knisely.

Patty and her staff did a great job of organizing this year's Spring Fling in spite of Mother Nature. Congratulations to Eleanor, Rae Ann, Dolly and Patty.

Dolly and Rita were kept busy checking reservations, selling souvenirs and collecting the money.

Early arrivals check out one of the door prizes. The babies certainly thought it was nice.

The food looked great and the bartenders were kept busy.

The Van Alstynes, Hixenbaughs and Knisleys enjoyed their dinner, as did many others.

The guests of honor and their family members enjoy the dinner.

Some people just sat and talked and listened to the entertainment until the line got shorter.

Mickey Bache entertained during dinner, actually he sang for his dinner and his wife's, as that was the only thing he charged. He claimed he wasn't at his best because of an allergy attack but everyone enjoyed his vocals. The Foundation would like to thank Mickey, not only for this performance, but for all his past help and cooperation.

Since it was Patty's birthday some of her friends surprised her with a bouquet and a cake.

Why won't these candles go out? Larry says she's pretty windy.

Jim and Zetta, 2007 Host and Hostess, were presented a gift by the Foundation. Zetta thanked everyone for a year they will never forget.

Vince "Flash" Rondinella is presented a door prize for his dedication to the Festival and for having purchased the first two tickets to the Spring Fling.

The highlight of the evening was the introduction of the 2008 Host and Hostess, Gabe and Donna Sciarretti. They then led off the dancing to a Bobby Vinton number sung by Mickey Bache.

With the dance beginning, Fran and Marsha thought it was time to count the cash.

Donna kept the entire family on the move all evening.

Donna got the girls out on the dance floor.

Mario, Vicky, Alex and John look as if they are all having fun.

Changing of the guard. 2007 Host and Hostess, Jim and Zetta, with 2008 Host and Hostess, Gabe and Donna.

Throughout the evening, door prizes were raffled. Fran was the happy winner of the first one.

The newest member of the Sciarretti family was there to keep an eye on grandpa and grandma. Looks like he and mom were both having fun.

Melissa and Brian had a great time.

Looks like a serious conversation.

Rae Ann was really having a good time.

What a great family!
Gabe and Donna and their children.

Donna and the in-laws.
.

Gabe's sisters and the Host and Hostess.

Gabe and the guys.

With Gabe playing the part of the cradle, the baby's asleep while Donna keeps an eye on him.

Nick finally got out from behind the bar.

The Electric Slide drew a big crowd to the dance floor.

The last of the door prizes went to Viola and Jigs, Tim got Captain Morgan, and Don accepts delivery from the ticket sellers of the last one.

The gang's all here!

By the end of the evening, everyone was tired and sitting around talking, all except Donna. She had to have one more trip around the dance floor. She never winds down.
