John Vesco Memorial Golf Tournament

After a couple of attempts to get a Festival golf tournament started, in 1997 John Vesco took the reins. Assisted by Joan Beitner and Dolly Contini, John was the driving force responsible for getting it underway at Green Valley Golf Club. The format was a 2-man scramble which is still used today. John remained chairman until his death in April, 2005. At that time, to honor his many years of service and dedication to the Festival, the tournament was named the John Vesco Memorial Golf Tournament.

The 2010 event will be held July 10, beginning at 8 A.M. at Green Valley Golf Club. Format will be the normal 2 man scramble and the entrance fee will be $80 per player. Prize money will be based on the total number of teams entered. Teams may enter at Green Valley beginning immediately until the time of the tournament. We hope to see everyone there. The more the merrier and the higher the prize amounts.

The early finishers sat on the patio and enjoyed some conversation and beverages while they waited on the rest of the golfers to finish.

Next year the tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 11. We hope to see everyone there.
